The clubs two `walk leader seekers`, John Churchman (Sunday walks) and Allan Mackay (Saturday walks) need your help to ensure our programme of walks is fully covered. So, when John or Allan approach you, please do think about leading a walk on the next programme....thank you for your support.
 
 
 
WALK PROGRAMME (FEBRUARY TO APRIL 2012)
 
FEBRUARY           
 Sunday 26                                                            
Half day walk. 6½miles.
Meet 9.30am at St George The Martyr Church, High Street, Wootton. (GR 763566). Please park considerately in village.
Walk to Preston Deanery and Quinton, returning to Wootton via Grange Park.

Saturday 3                    
Half day walk. 5½miles.
Meet 1.30pm at Easton Maudit Church (GR 889599).
A circular walk using mostly field edge paths. 65metres of climbing and 3 stiles.

Sunday 11                    
Half day walk. 7miles.
Meet 10.00am in Yardley Gobion at St Leonard’s Church (MK46 5DH).  
A very nice walk via Rudolf Steiner School, Alderton, Grafton Regis, The Grand Union Canal and Grafton Way .
Sunday lunch after walk available at The Coffee Pot Pub, Yardley Gobion.

Half day walk.
Meet 1.30pm at the Navigation pub car park, Stoke Bruerne.

Sunday 25                           
Full day walk. 9miles.
Meet 10.00am outside Stag’s Head PH. Great Doddington
(GR 885650).
The walk takes us across the Nene Valley via several lakes to Wollaston then on to Irchester for our lunch break at the Carpenter’s Arms PH. After lunch we have a five mile walk via Irchester Country Park then along the bank of the River Nene back to Great Doddington.

Half day walk.
Meet 2.00pm at the church in Onley (GR 890510).
Start at the finish line for The Pancake Race. Walking through Emberton Park to Emberton and Filgrave and Petsoe End. Return over field paths to Onley.

APRIL
 
Sunday 8                           
Half day walk. 6.5miles.
Meet 10.00am outside ‘The Bull’ pub in Harpole.
Please park with consideration for others in the village. The walk is via Nobottle with some outstanding views … so bring your cameras.
There is an opportunity to have Sunday lunch at the Turnpike afterwards.

From Greens Norton to Potcote returning to Greens Norton via Knightley Way .

Half day walk. 6.6miles.
Meet 10.00am in Emberton at the Bell & Bear Pub (NN12 7UB) [GR 889495].
Park in pub car park if staying for lunch or if not elsewhere in the village with consideration to others.
A lovely walk towards ‘Filgrave’. Through ancient Hollington ‘Bluebell Wood’, Petsoe End on towards Onley then turning off for a stroll through Emberton Country Park (toilets). Then Emberton village and the pub with home cooked produce. A few stiles.

Saturday 28                         
Half day walk. 6.25miles.
Meet 1.30pm at St John the Baptist Parish Church, High Street, Blisworth. NN7 3BJ (GR SP726535).
Three villages taking in Shutlanger, with its ‘monastery’, Stoke Bruerne and its canal museum and Blisworth with its former spice mill. We follow parts of the Midshires Way and Pilgrims path. Refreshments at Stoke Bruerne. 3 stiles.
Regular (currently) bus service to the start of walk from Northampton and Towcester.
