Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the Green Man pub, Bedford Road, Lavendon, Postcode MK46 4HA, GR 918535, OS Map 207. A lovely walk with great views, no steep hills, passes the site of Lavendon Castle. A few stiles. Park in the pub car park ONLY if eating there after the walk (table booked for 1pm, numbers taken on the day) otherwise with consideration in the village. 

If you wish to dine, you MUST let Brian know by 24 February, and make your menu choices, which are obtainable from Brian or on the email from Sue latter dated 17th January.

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at The Royal Oak public house, 2 Whiston Road, Cogenhoe, Postcode NN7 1NJ, GR 832 606. A morning circular walk to Earls Barton and Ecton around the Nene Valley. Dogs on leads welcome.


Sunday 18 March

Hot Cross Bun Walk! Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the village green in Orlingbury, Postcode NN14 1JA, GR 861 723, OS Explorer Map 224. Starting at Orlingbury, across the fields to Little Harrowden and onto Great Harrowden and then, via footpaths and some road walking to Hardwick for a refreshment stop, returning to Orlingbury along footpaths. A few stiles. No dogs due to livestock in fields. Lunch has been arranged at the Queens Arms, Orlingbury, numbers taken on the day. PS – We can guarantee the buns but not that they will be hot!!!

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the Red Lion, Denton, Postcode NN7 1DQ. An easy circular walk from Denton across to Brafield, through Cogenhoe returning to Denton via Brafield and Chadstone. Lovely views on a good day. Relatively mud free.

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at Bromham Mill Car Park, Bridge End, Bromham, Postcode MK43 8LP, GR 010 506, OS Explorer Map 208. A walk via the villages of Stagsden and Bury End. There should be, dependent on the weather, and abundance of bluebells. There is a café at Bromham Mill and The Swan, just up the road, does food. Please make your own arrangements if eating. No dogs due to cattle in fields.


Sunday 15 April

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the Old Coach House, Ashby St Ledgers, Postcode CV23 8UN, GR 568 682, OS Explorer Map 222. A walk along green lanes and footpaths, partly on the Jurassic Way, partly on the canal towpath, from Ashby St Ledgers via Braunston and Welton. Very attractive villages and fine views. No stiles but some steepish inclines. May be livestock so no dogs, please. Food is available at the Old Coach House. Book on the day. Park in the pub car park ONLY if staying to eat, otherwise with consideration in the village.


TUESDAY 17 April 

 Social Evening/AGM: to be held at the Conservative Club, Billing Road, Northampton, NN1 5DA at 7.30 pm A fun evening of games, quizzes and music – food and drinks will be available. Due to the Constitution change at the AGM in October 2017, the evening will incorporate a very short AGM. We promise not to press gang or coerce anyone but we do need to do this to ratify the Constitution change. Come along and enjoy the rest of the evening. Sunday 22 to Friday 27 April        Walking break to the Isle of Man. Information will be sent directly to those going on this trip.

Morning Walk Meet at 10.30 am at the White Swan, 22 Main Street, Woodnewton, Postcode PE8 5EB, GR TF 035 945, OS Explorer Maps 224 & 227/Landranger 141. A delightful walk in the north of our county. Pasture, fields and woodland. Some very minor roads/tracks. Not a lot of mud! Passing through the ‘Cotswold style’ village of Apethorpe and paying our respects to Coco the Clown in Woodnewton graveyard. Lunch available at the White Swan where you may park if dining (names and choices on the day). Dogs on leads. A few stiles.
