6th September - Walking trip
In order to get more response for the September trip, it seems that the dates will have to be changed, as I've only had one person (Maureen) expressing interest, to date. The Premier Inn at Thirsk would have been fine but as there are race meetings most weekends (except for the 15th) the Saturday night price goes up astronomically! I would therefore suggest that we go for a 4 night stay from Friday 6th. There's no central hotel where we can accommodate everybody - but there's plenty of places handy to reaching the walks locations, around the small market town of Stokesley. A google of B&Bs & hotels near Stokesley will bring up quite a list, with quite a variation in prices. However, It's early days, maybe we could keep both options open i.e. Premier Inn Thirsk from 15th Sept or various near Stokesley from 6th Sep - and go for the most popular option. There's also a Caravan Club CL at Stokesley, which I've used many times.Leader Colin Brownlee [email protected]
