A gentle winter walk via Brackmills, Great Houghton, Little Houghton and the Washlands. Only park in pub car park if staying for refreshments after the walk, otherwise in the layby nearby.


FEBRUARY


Sunday 2 February

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at The Hatton Arms, Gretton, Postcode NN17 3DN. A walk mostly on farm paths with fine views over the Welland Valley and Harringworth Viaduct. A break will be taken at Harringworth House before returning on paths beside woodland and a couple of fields. Lunch is available after the walk – food orders will be taken at the start of the walk. Park in the pub car park if staying to eat otherwise with consideration in the village.

A winter urban walk along mainly tarmac paths and grassy tracks through Little Billing, Great Billing and Weston Favell Village. Back along the Nene Way (could be muddy in places). No stiles. Lunch possible afterwards at the Billing Mill if required.

Morning Walk Meet at 10 am at the Old Plough Inn, Braunston, Postcode NN11 7HS, GR 540662. A pleasant walk, taking in the Grand Union Canal, the River Leam and crossing into Warwickshire. Mainly flat level going. No stiles but a few steps at the metal footbridge. Lunch available after the walk. Please park with consideration for others in the village.

A circular walk starting at Grafton Regis taking in the villages of Alderton and Stoke Bruerne, returning via the Grand Union Canal. Reasonably flat walking with a few stiles and a small amount of road walking.

CLOCKS CHANGE 

Morning Walk Meet at 10.00 am at the White Horse, Old, Postcode NN6 9QX. A lovely walk passing through Scaldwell and skirting the lost village of Faxton with a short stretch of road walking at the start. A few stiles and moderate inclines. A long stretch of ploughed fields at the end which may be muddy if wet. Park in the pub car park if staying for lunch, otherwise with consideration in the village.

A reminder that membership fees are due on 1 April 2020 - £5 per year for adults and £1 for children (up to 16).

A spring walk in Milton Keynes. An easy walk with no stiles visiting the village of Milton Keynes, Willen Lake (where toilets are available), the Tree Cathedral and Campbell Park.
